Welcome to TedJaleta.com
Ted Jaleta's (ja-let-a) fascinating story of courage and hope is told in the award-winning motivational biography Never Give Up: Ted Jaleta's Inspiring Story, written by Saskatchewan author Deana Driver. Ted Jaleta was a leader from an early age, challenging accepted views and insisting that an education was the means to a better life for himself and others. He was on the path to becoming an Olympic-calibre long distance runner when his decision to publicly challenge land ownership rules in his home country of Ethiopia changed those plans. With a positive outlook, courage, determination and hard work, Ted overcame many of the obstacles in his own life and, through Never Give Up, shares his message of how others can do the same. This inspiring true story follows Ted Jaleta's journey from Africa to North America, sharing his trials, triumphs and optimistic outlook with all.
Ted Jaleta is an inspiring motivational speaker and humanitarian who shares his insights and lessons with audiences of all ages. On April 4/09, Toastmasters of Southern Saskatchewan presented Ted Jaleta with the Helgi Goodman Award in recognition of his excellence in leadership and communication. Jaleta is also an accomplished long distance Masters athlete who was inducted into Saskatchewan's Sports Hall of Fame in 2000. He stills runs every day for fitness and fun and trains a group of local runners called the Jaleta Pacers.

Readers talk about the book Never Give Up: Ted Jaleta's Inspiring Story
I just finished reading your book and I would like to thank you. I find my story in yours. I am from Haiti and I have been in Canada since 2000. It was not easy at the beginning, but now it's getting better. Thank you again for the words of encouragement.
What an amazing story. It goes to show you that if you put your mind to anything, you can conquer it all. My hat's off to Ted. He is an inspiration to all of us and he should be very proud of what he has overcome in life.
This book has opened my eyes to what other people have to endure in their everyday lives. While he could have felt sorry for himself and given up, he didn't. It made him a stronger person. Thank you for his story. I will remember it always, especially when I start feeling sorry for myself.
This is the story of an amazing individual; of astounding obstacles; of astonishing experiences, both terrific and terrible; with a wonderful outcome - and your story is not yet complete! Never Give Up is the 'splendid torch' that is your life story. Thank you for sharing your pain and joy and accomplishments and inspiration with us all.
Once I started reading it, I could not put it down until I was done. I finished it that night. An amazing story. I feel as though I have nothing to complain about.
A few weeks ago my husband bought me the book "Never Give Up." There are no words to describe how much I thoroughly enjoyed this biography. I laughed, I cried, I cheered and I reminisced. You inspired me to challenge myself physically and now you have set a new goal for me to challenge myself mentally.
I was simply unable to put it down! It's a story any Canadian - immigrant or otherwise - should read and learn from; one that teaches in a profound way that any obstacle in life is nothing but a passing storm.
Your story gave me the strength and courage to not be pulled into the negative things around me. I'm going back to school and getting my life back on track.
